The long-awaited successor from Bugatti has finally been spotted in a somewhat more final-product-ready bodywork. It’s still considered to be deep in testing stages at this point and the supposedly revamped vehicle has some brutal performance numbers to achieve. If the purported electric turbo/hybrid combination comes to fruition, the thing will be a technological marvel once again.

Whatever the case is, there’s a look at the actual design for it. I’m not speculating on the vehicle’s name, and Chiron does not seem likely to me because they’ve already used it once before. They’ve certainly worked hard and fast to keep the project under wraps up until this point. Expect a reveal next year.

Please stop killing Bugatti, Volkswagen. Please?

I don’t think the best way of not drawing attention is by putting a black and orange $2m car in between the two test mules.

Anyway.... they look really small. I always imagined Bugattis being these massively tall (for what they are) bloated barges. Like a Rolls Royce, much bigger in person than they look in pictures. But the Veyron is the opposite of that.

Also, is that an i8 leading the three?

In all fairness, VW could have legitimately killed them by not investing in another vehicle.

The Veyron should never have been a Bugatti. It just isn’t a Bugatti.

Yeah, they’re testing with an i8. This further confirms the rumors of a hybrid-like setup. The engineers are more than likely affirming the Veyron successor has the best variant of the tech when it becomes ready for ordering.

And you’re right, they are very small in person.

The clientel needed a highly exclusive nameplate to justify the prestige and pricing. VW acquired the rights to the Bugatti nameplate. There was no better choice.

And while we’re at it, let’s turn Duesenberg into a high-end muscle car manufacturer.

Bugatti could have been VW’s Maybach, and frankly the Veyron never needed to exist, IMHO.

Bugatti was already defunct before the initial reincarnation. Don’t assassociate the new company with the defunct original. Italian ownership started the trend of the high-performance exclusive Bugatti supercar with the EB110. VW wanted to continue the momentum.

The modern Bugatti team has always wanted to make a true luxury sedan. Business decisions have said otherwise.

I was surprised when I first saw one in person too. The shape and overall design of them, not to mention knowing how heavy they are, really made me think I’d be seeing the Giant Oceanic Manta Ray of the extreme car market. Boy was I shocked.

In my eyes, a Bugatti is a classy French luxury car, such as the Type 57.

Kinja'd!!!

The Veyron is a Volkswagen with Bugatti badges.

....I get it, you got lost on the way to the YouTube comment section while in study hall.

You clearly don’t know anything about Bugatti, Volkswagen, or cars in general. Please learn to read more.
